Got 2 phones so you can talk to yourself when you need to be in 2 places at the same time?

With Harmonious Trees from Yoyo gone, ALX from OProject gone, SubsetSum under revamping, Android Shrubbing is thinning out.

We still have:
Albert (Einstein beta)
Milkyway
SETI
PrimeGrid
Astroids
Engima
Radioactive
TheSkynet Pogs
WUProp

Problem is I was working on WUProp credits in several of these and will never get 5000 hours on the dead ones now.

Has anyone installed NativeBOINC on their Android device? If so, what project(s) have you tried or run? What devices (phone, tablet, Raspberry PI)?

Just got my HTC One Friday night
Added NativeBOINC
Added SETI
Got 4 WUs

Now have 5 WUs (+ 2 Errors = 7)

I am running 2 SETI Tasks and 1 Each of the others
My Android is 3.4.10 (They just announced 4.2.2 for my HTC One!)

Sir Plomos,

Just got my S4 this weekend. How is yours doing heat wise with the various projects? Have you had to back it down at all?

I charge mine via USB and have found that running seti on it tends to drop the battery even with it plugged in that way. As far as heat though it is pretty normal and i haven't had any issues with that

I am looking for a good list of Android projects. The Berkeley site only lists some of them. Looking for something I have not done on my unit (trying to get more WUProp numbers).

The list I have have completed is:
Asteroids@home
Collatz Conjecture
Einstein@home
Moo! Wrapper
Rosetta@home
SETI@home
theSkyNet POGS
Yoyo@home

Projects I plan on doing next:
Citizen Science Grid
World Community Grid
Enigma@Home

Projects that do not have work and unsure if they will:
GPUGrid.net

Are there any others being done? It would be awesome to have a nice list.

Thanks for the list. However I've been 'DroidShrubbing WCG FightAids steadily for some time, so I think you can move that sub-project to the active list.

I've looked at WGC and it showed FightAids at 100%, and it's not really easy to see how much time is left on it. It also does not easily list the Android projects.

Whenever I click to go to the forums I get an SQL error. It would be nice is they showed applications easier and had the forums work correctly.

I had hit a goal on one project on my android, then I went to move to others.

CSG, no work
Astroids and Collatz, will no longer support nativeBOINC. So you must use the Berkley version.

The issue with the Berkley version is you cannot control it from other systems like you can with regular BOINC and nativeBOINC. This means I cannot set my tablet off in a corner and let it crunch and control it from my main system. This is an issue for me.

Yoyo, Einstein and Rosetta currently still work fine, but may change if they update their servers to newer versions. I have not taken time to test others, yet. I am unsure who else is still using nativeBOINC and wants to test others.

It looks like if you have the patience and time you might be able to create hand anonymous platforms and make it work, but that's not fun on a tablet either.

As for htc Ones, both my M7 and an M8 have had the battery swell up and make the device totally unusable

I will not renew my Contract, and stopped Android Shrubbing altogether (since that was the whole reason I even BOUGHT them!)

After my latest tablet bit the dust, I have decided not to get a new one for now.

I will state though, for all the tablets I had, I only paid for the first one, plus buying the warranty on the first one. Since it was the most expensive of the tablets I bought, each consecutive tablet with the warranty was less costly. So in the long run I made a few $ back from the original purchase. In our case of using tablets, I do recommend the 2 or 3 year warranty purchase from one of the reputable warranty sites. Mine each lasted between about 10 months to 1.5 years until the battery started to expand from the heat.

So for now I am out of the Android shrubbing, but I am looking at updating my Core2Quad to hopefully something newer.

I'm shrubbing POGS on an HTC - One (m7) with the Berkley BOINC.
After burning up one phone I found it best to limit the CPU temp to 38.5 C. and run just 3 cores at a time (75%) plus a non-intensive like WUProp.
So far so good. Since the phone is no longer under warranty and 3 years old I will run it until it dies.
Android shrubbing is a good enough use for the phones and tablets that are being "thrown away".

Poke it with a stick and if it says, "I'm not dead yet!" then put it to use. #ni-1

Anyone else having issues with the newer phones only working on one project no matter how many you try to run?

My HTC m8 can handle 4 non stop projects but the HTC 10 will only do one project... Any ideas on how I can boost that to 2 projects that'll run at the same time...
