Yes, also PG GFN (both) and MilkyWay.

Anyway, all of them are happy when they have assigned 1 CPU core (especially EAH), GFN's are too long, MW DP is too demanding for my GPU, SAH is poorly optimized...

SAH you can download the Optimized apps installer and have it automatically install reading your devices and choosing the best optimization. http://lunatics.kwsn.net/

Einstein, if you are a single does not need a separate GPU, in fact, I run 2 on my older card and I am getting all the cores I want.

PG can also do PPS Sieve, which is awesome for that card.

I can see MW may be an issue.

They can't decide what to do for us...
Quote:
Due to a variety of server scheduling problems that have not been able to be resolved, Collatz will be phasing out the multi-size workunits over the next week or two and going back to using multiple applications. You will once again control your own destiny and be able to choose the size WUs by the application chosen (micro, mini, standard, and large). The big addition (pun intended) that will be the first to be deployed is the large_collatz application which will be 32 times the size of the largest multi-size workunit. It is aimed at the fastest GPUs to reduce the upload/download and workunit startup overhead of running smaller workunits. That should result in a higher RAC as well as a reduced load on the Collatz server.

Collatz went to 4 different apps from the single app.
There is:
Micro <-- New (ARM only)
Mini
Solo
Large <-- New (GPU only)

Project is down
The project's database server is down. Please check back in a few hours

The problem is those "few hours" usually turn into a few days. There never seems to be a notification that it's going to be taken down, or many times when it returns there is no notification as to why it was down. It's not easy voting this into PotM anymore, since the inconsistency of the admins desire to take down the system for no explained reasons.

Because it's not a university based project. It's just Slicker, admin, programmer, hardware tech, etc. If he's away from home when the server goes down, it just has to wait for him to get home and fix it. He does an amazing job, all things considered.

Got 1 "Large" today. Already running 6 hours on my HD 7750 (max OC'ed), progress 6.443%, so calculation is it run time will be 93.14 hours - much better than BOINC estimation of 1,471 hours #ni-1

The Large Collatz are running 60 hours for me. @ 236,479 credits Shocked
The Mini Collatz are running on my AMD cpu at under 4 hours, average 940 credits each.
The Micro Collatz running on my Android phone are completing in just over 3 hours and seem to average around 60 credits.

Which CPU?

I finally got around to replacing a failing HD58780 with a HD 7770 a couple of days ago. I restarted Collatz but got an error message that it couldn't reach the project. The url looked right, internet access OK. Tried Einstein, got a WU but it wasn't running. Confused NNT'd it and went to bed. When I checked it was at ~95% and waiting to run. Confused Left it alone and when I checked again it had finished. I tried updating Collatz again and got an 'Invalid signature' error message and had to detach/re-attach. It downloaded a large WU but it wasn't running. Confused I re-checked setting at the project and finally found the local preferences for 'Use GPU while computer is in use' had been un-checked. Twisted Evil Embarassed

Maybe that will help someone in the future.

Will switch to Einstein when this huge Collatz WU finishes. I just limited POGS to 5CPUs. (PhenomIIx6)

I should have written down the progress% and time when I reserved a core. It seems a bit faster but I can't say by how much.

Me either Sad

IIRC, w/o free core the progress indicated the task will be finished in app. 8 days (HD 7750). I guess it would be done in max. 2 days with free core.

For pretty much any gpu shrub you want to leave a core free for it to keep the card fed. Such is life.

So I been working on a Large Collatz, right? Watching it inch up daily, 15%, 20% 25%...
Next thing you know, it has disappeared! No credit ANYWHERE for my past Tasks (and I'm over 600k) -
No acknowledgement I ever submitted ANYTHING, much less some failed WU or whatever they did with it -
Sent a Post to the Forum, but not holding my breath there - NOT a happy camper!

"Disappeared", you say, "No Credit Anywhere" ... and you notified the proper authorities, etc.
Hmmmmm....
Mayperhaps the cause and the cure are the same thing.

Sooooo,
Have a couple more,, see if that changes your perspective.

*** the good news is: you do exist...
http://boinc.thesonntags.com/collatz/show_user.php?userid=931
*** bad news is: no reported activity since April 16
http://boincstats.com/en/stats/86/user/detail/931/lastDays
***more bad news: NO Large Collatz WU's in progress or reported for your AMD computer with the GPU
http://boinc.thesonntags.com/collatz/results.php?hostid=128347

We are all hoping you won't run out of PGGB's before you get this solved.

Post Script: There are NO Happy Campers after the End of the Universe.
