Hi folks

My son would like to participate with boinc, maybe not kwsn though.
he says he say boinc and linux mint are incompatible. is this true or can it be done?

As you might have guessed I am no tech buff.

he tells me it has this message on his laptop

" not been able to detect the character encoding"

Linux Mint works GREAT with boinc. Don't use the mint boinc though, just download and install the boinc package from berkeley. The stock one has issues with virtualbox (which you may or may not use depending on what projects you want). Removing the stock boinc and installing the current main one should clear that error as well.

Thanks guys, the last I heard he was up and running just couldn't decide on which projects he was more interested in. As it is Sunday he will now be propping up the bar at his local having watched the football(the real one where people kick the ball a lot). Very Happy
