My phone which runs a
ARM
ARMv7 Processor rev 2 (v7l) @1000MHz
(1 processors)
runs subset in ~3 hrs and still gets regular credit ~90/WU so as far as credit it should come out around the same. _________________

Ok so, Runs a SubsetSum Wu in ~4:10 for 93.59 credits. Times 2 divided 4 = 46.795 credit per hour.
It didn't get hot and the battery life seems relativity unaffected, I am sure it has some draw but it isn't substantial.
You can set it to stop processing at preset battery levels in Preferences, among other stuff
I'm gonna keep doing it...... _________________ a.k.a. Licentious of Borg.........Resistance Really is Futile.......

OProject has been out of work, so I added SubsetSum. It seems OProject ALX project does not need a full CPU so it can run along side CPU projects. In Windows this works screwy, but for *nix based OSes it works well. So when it comes back my phone should run 3 units at the same time, 2 SubsetSum and 1 OProject ALX.
This is kind of how Dimes works, plus Skynet web and stand alone. We'll see how this works. _________________ Watch the movie about me The 4-1-4s: The Original Teenage Hackers (It is only about 12 minutes long.)

OProjects has plenty of non-Android work since I have a couple right now.

On SubsetSum my ARM is doing them in about 6:30. The OProject in about :10.
OProject will not run 2x but will run along side SubsetSum or two SubsetSum.
OProject is approx. 48/hour
SubsetSum is approx. 14.39/hour per unit
I guess if I just ran SubsetSum I would get approximately 28.78 per hour. OProject gives me more, but it is frequently our of work and is a fake project currently. Sometime in the future it's supposed to be for Artificial Intelligence.
I did some battery testing, for approximately a 15 hour period off the battery my phone used to use about 10% battery not being used. Last couple of day crunching projects it used about 30% of the batter in the same time. So about a 3x drain, but the phone never gets hot.
This weekend will be a bigger test since I am doing some traveling to the home office. We'll see how much data it runs through and how well I can keep the battery alive.

Tried it on my samsung galaxy s2. (Dual 1.5). Milkyway runs fine but I cannot get any tasks for primegrid. Is there a specific cpu task I should be running to get the phone to download tasks? |

Only "The Riesel Problem Sieve" and "Cullen Woodall Sieve" (currently is finished) are supported for Primegrid project. primegrid have many applications, however only two apps are supported. |

Not surprised that they do not have many projects supported.
Too bad we are bad at math, and yet we shrub math projects.

Sounds like cloud computing & ARM based user devices in the near future. _________________

lol, on my Galaxy S2 it uses 2 cores and it consumes more battery than it is capable to charge while connecting to a charger!
Should I set powersaving on or set it to crunch on 1 core? _________________ Anyone for Crunch?

You just need to upgrade your charger.

Well i bet ARM based cliens are made for things like raspberry pi etc, not for phones\tablets.
Raspberry Pi computing cluster. Sounds pretty fun. It's gonna be cheap as hell and i bet it can do some shrubbing as well. _________________

My phone has been crunching since I started this thread. I run two projects. My phone is dual core and runs 2 units at the same time
On OProject@Home it has a current RAC of 325
On SubsetSum@Home it has a current RAC of 604
OProject@Home is currently just fake work for the ARM processor, so no real data created from the crunching but the units just take less than 20 seconds and pay 8. These are considered NCI and will only run 1 one my phone at a time and they hand them out weird.
SubsetSum@Home units are taking about 6.5 hours and pay 90.57. This is trying to prove some type of math theory.
My phone never gets hot and when I use it to make calls it does pause processing, it also pauses if on battery (which is not very often). _________________ Watch the movie about me The 4-1-4s: The Original Teenage Hackers (It is only about 12 minutes long.)

I bring this subject up again, because there are several projects that now allow Android/ARM crunching.
I purpose that we should add this as part of the statistics on the voting.
The list of projects I have found are:
Albert
Asteroids
Enigma
Milkyway
Oproject (Currently this project has the Android/ARM work indefinitely suspended)
PrimeGrid
Seti
SkyNetPogs
SubsetSum (Currently under revamping)
Yoyo
Of course it's usually only one of the subprojects under the main project that has Android/ARM support, but it does get more work done for those willing to use their device. _________________ Watch the movie about me The 4-1-4s: The Original Teenage Hackers (It is only about 12 minutes long.)

I'm willing to use my device.
Also, I wish I had one of those phones.
