It's sad, but it's true.
Sony is pulling-the-plug on F@H on PS3.

There are some WUs left however...so DON'T upgrade your PS3 software if you want to fold to the bitter end.
I goofed-up, and accidentally DID the upgrade...so "Life with PlayStation" will no longer work on my PS3.
For me, it has now become just a spare Blu-ray player.
I managed to complete 4040 WUs on PS3 (over nearly 3 years), so I think it was worthwhile.
There is some crabbing going on over at Stanford's folding forum.
Some are railing & lashing-out at Sony for withdrawing their support.
But I think Sony did a great thing by pushing F@H via PS3 all those years (5?) ago.
They didn't have to; and I'm sure it cost them some investment $$ to get it developed, installed (pre-installed), and making it VERY easy to use.
I left a note of gratitude on folding-forum for the folks at Sony - and the in-numerous thousands of people who contributed via PS3 over the years.
Let's hope this sets a good example for other tech companies to involve themselves in projects that extend beyond the corporate 'bottom-line'.
I'm sure Sony didn't lose a ton of money, but I don't think they made a boatload either.
Sony did, however, make a couple of $ from me: The only reason I purchased a PS3 was for folding. _________________ Click here for...KWSN F@H team summary at EOC
