With only 2 votes each it's time for a late round decision - here are the two contestants.

Einstein

KWSN currently in 18th place, but should pass the University of Wisconsin later today. Stomp Factor is low, doesn't appear we'll pass anyone else in a month, but these GPU projects are hard to predict - don't know how high production will run if everyone stomps on it. And that's part of the attraction of voting for this one - CPU and GPU PotM's could both crunch the same project as Einstein is evidently still worthwhile for CPU's...

This project currently searches for pulsars in data from the giant Arecibo radio telescope. 16 have been found so far. This project also searches for Einstein gravitational-wave emissions from spinning neutron stars. So far this has not been successful and I get the impression it's less of a priority than pulsars - perhaps someone can verify that.

MOO! Wrapper
KWSN is currently in 5th place, but 12th in RAC, so there's a slight takeover risk. Difficult to predict the Stomp Factor because the teams above us are out-producing us significantly, but we could snag Seti.Germany if they don't wake up. One attraction to this choice is at 832 million total with 112 million crunched in last 28 days, we're in striking distance of 1 Billion points.

This project wraps the RC5-72 challenge, an attempt to break a 72 bit crypto code. This demonstrates the power of cryptography as the project has been running for 9 years and they have searched only 2% of the possible keyspace, leaving enough work for another 9 to 137 years!

Vote quickly - 2012 starts in less than 2 days! Ni!

I say for Moo Wrapper is to help push RC5 to 3% complete by the end of the month.

Is this vote necessary? Einstein is CUDA only and Moo! is virtually ATI only (CUDA gets less than a quarter of ATI pts/hr.).

Also, we should be crunching Moo! now while points are 15K - 17K per WU, rather than waiting for credit to drop back, probably Jan 1st. I'll 'repay' Collatz crunch time in Jan.

Warnings:
You need to run the newer BETA BOINC code.
They run out of work often.

Oh you would love one. I just picked up an nVidia GTX 560 (for under $200). On PG, it is fast...

My CPU (AMD Athlon II X3 450) does C/W sieve WU in about 3 hours, 45 min. each on one core (3.2 GHz). #Sleep

The GTX 560 does a C/W sieve WU in about 3 min. #Onfire
That is 75x faster...

The GTX 560 is still fast as greased lightning... and it is nowhere near top of the line.

1/31/2012 1:50:45 AM | | NVIDIA GPU 0: GeForce GTX 560 (driver version 285.62, CUDA version 4.10, compute capability 2.1, 1024MB, 871MB available, 1089 GFLOPS peak)

Yes, I know that things are a bit distorted due to PSA credits being applied recently, but...

Running Sophie-Germain on 2 cores of my 3-core AMD Athlon II x3-450 (3.2 GHz), and GCW sieve on the GTX 560 GPU (and splitting time 50-50 with Seti@Home (when I can get work from them)), I am showing a RAC of 65,880 on PrimeGrid. Sometime in the next couple of days or so, I should pass 3 Million at PG (2,922,286 credits at the moment). You are missing out, man.

364.43 credits every 3 minutes (give or take a couple of seconds either way) on the GCW sieve is FUN. Twisted Evil

You should request GF Cuda then on PG and start getting that Badge.

Just about to do so, its the only PG badge I don't yet have to at least bronze. Smile

Yes, it should do the same, but without the badge. I have been running 5.0.4 during the WWWW intro, and got around 100K boinc PSA credits in the Jan. credit awards run.

I have been looking at the master ini file to see what I have to do to enable geneferCUDA.exe, but I would really rather (most likely) run it under BOINC (GFN badge vs. PSA badge) until I get the GFN badge to at least silver (maybe gold, depending on how rapid it is).

Thats all 17 PG badges to bronze or better, and crossed the 3 million credit mark on PG with the same WU. Nice.
