Rosetta@home needs your help to determine the 3-dimensional shapes of proteins in research that may ultimately lead to finding cures for some major human diseases. By running the Rosetta program on your computer while you don't need it you will help us speed up and extend our research in ways we couldn't possibly attempt without your help. You will also be helping our efforts at designing new proteins to fight diseases such as HIV, Malaria, Cancer, and Alzheimer's (See our Disease Related Research for more information). Please join us in our efforts! Rosetta@home is not for profit.

Let the tauntage begin!

Aussies: http://forum.boinc-australia.net/
Clockers: http://www.overclock.net/overclock-net-boinc-team/

I think some of us will take a short hiatus in favor of the Wabbit challenge of PrimeGrid but I'd be glad to join the tauntage #ni-1

Just FYI, Landroid had asked on the other thread about how Rosetta has been running. About a week ago, I set it to go 50/50 with dDM. Rosetta has been going fine, I've had a few WUs error out but otherwise all is good... except that it completely hogged the boinc manager. Ever since I allowed tasks from Rosetta, I haven't gotten any dDM WUs even though they were both set at the stock 100 resource share. GPU tasks and WUprop ran smoothly alongside. Might be just me, but the question was asked...

I'm started trying it last night also. I set Rosetta's share at 1 to keep DMM running. 3 hr. tasks with an 11 day deadline and they're running in high priority mode. Confused

I only got 8 WU's with a 3 day cache setting too, so it will be hard to work through server down-times. Sad

Dammit, the Aussies are going to be difficult to tanut! Any ideas? Maybe Michelle can give 'em a tweet?

In the other direction, I'm registered at Overclockers, but can't seem to log in at the moment. This might be a good graph to use once we get there...

That graph shows them gaining on us rather rapidly, sure to strike terror in their hearts. Rolling Eyes

Reverse loonie taunt started - it is on now! Let's keep this one out of the DVD collection, ay?

http://www.overclock.net/overclock-net-boinc-team/930619-rosetta-ni-ni-ni-rosetta.html

Notice Overclockers have a Boinc POTM where they pick the lowest 3 projects and try to move up. Good luck moving up from 555 to 200 in WCG in one month! Laughing

Overclocker forums are impressive, doing some loonie things - dry ice/liquid nitrogen cooling anyone?

Landroid, seems you've had another brain aneurysm. Go have a lie-down. You're taunting the wrong team, Overclocker.net instead of Overclockers.com.

Overclocker.net is in 553rd place in Rosetta.

Is there such a thing as a double-reverse misdirected taunt? Laughing

BWAAAA-HAHAAA! We can add that one to the DVD collection of tanuts gone wrong after all! Rolling Eyes

I think someone else better start this taunt off on the right rabbit foot with the right team!

This error commonly occurs when you neglect to sacrifice a goat when starting a project.

Did you remember to sacrifice a goat?

Goats hate to be sacrificed.

They're so vain about their batting average. Laughing

BOINC Australia has never liked us, and we have pissed off Overclockers before.

Now that the PG challenge is over, we'd better crank up production in Rosetta if we want to tanut Overclockers.com. They've cut our lead in half in the last week, from about 900K to 450K points. Shocked

We can also track progress in the DC Vault Biological and Medical Science rankings - KWSN is currently in 10th place with 88,741 points. This is our weak point in the DC Vault - we are in 6th place or better in all other categories including 4th overall... Don't know how DC Vault points are calculated and whether three more weeks of crunching Rosetta will move us up in this category or not...

Milestones:
stompy passes 250,000
Sonicbug passed 90,000
krouac passes 30,000
Mildew passes 20,000
Gemjunkie passes 20,000

Production was up to 100K yesterday, but we need more - Overclockers crunched 150K and cut our lead to 335K. Confused

Milestones:

DoW passes 900,000
Sir Stooper passed 40,000
Gemjunkie passed 30,000
Mildew passed 25,000
