Wabbit,
Here's your account for Spinhenge according to Free-DC...http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?page=user&proj=spi&name=104
Somebody has been putting up some numbers over the past few days. Over 8000 in the past 28 days. Either you got a shrubber going it alone incognito or you have a guardian angel helping you out! _________________

Search Boinc for 'Wabbit98', looks like there are 4.
Computers gone rogue! I warned you guys about that Aqua project designing sentient quantum computers!
Run away!!!
The ones on Boincstats all listed as from US, the Free-DC one says New Caledonia. _________________

Cool, it is a Quad core Intel running Linux. A nice "imaginary" computer to have!

I've stopped getting work on one shrubber. When updating automatically, it only requests work for GPU.
If I click the update button it asks for work for CPU and GPU. The problem is the 15 min. timeout, if I click update before the 15 min. the server server says last request too recent, but as soon as the 15 min. is up it asks for GPU tasks and starts another timeout. _________________

What is happening is you are building up long term debt to other projects. You need a cc_config.xml file in your BOINC data folder. Mine is below:
Code: | <cc_config>
<log_flags>
<coproc_debug>0</coproc_debug>
<sched_op_debug>0</sched_op_debug>
<work_fetch_debug>0</work_fetch_debug>
</log_flags>
<options>
<max_file_xfers>8</max_file_xfers>
<max_file_xfers_per_project>8</max_file_xfers_per_project>
<report_results_immediately>1</report_results_immediately>
<save_stats_days>360</save_stats_days>
<zero_debts>1</zero_debts>
</options>
</cc_config>
|
Copy that, open Notepad, paste, and save it as cc_config.xml in the BOINC data folder, not the program folder. Quit BOINC, and restart. You should see a line at the beginning of the Messages tab that says:
Code: | 11/22/2010 7:23:07 AM Config: zero long-term debts on startup
|
That will show that it is working. Every few days you have to quit and restart, but will allow you to get max tasks...

Shrubber had started getting work from Spinhenge again but I inserted the file anyway, and startup message is present.
Thanks again.

Sir Gemjunkie, many times to have fun when I create a new account for a project I will at times choose a random country.

Final stats:
11th Place +1
18,458,979 Points +3,055,392.
94,202 RAC +69,626.
As I recall Spinhenge was a very solid project - ran out of work only once for about 4 hours, no server malfunctions, erroring WU's, etc.... |

I agree, good project, interesting science (at least it sounded like science, I don't understand most things in life). A little hard to move in the rankings, but I liked it nonetheless. _________________

Yeah hard to move up when we are almost in the top 10 overall in Spinhenge.

Those are pretty impressive numbers when you remember each WU is only worth 16 points.
