When I upgraded the Boinc version, it went and got a bunch of SETI, Rosetta and a couple of Einsteins to boot. At least while Seti is down I have some to run. _________________ Fetch me the Holy Hand Grenade!

Yeah, SETI is down again. All of the splitters are disabled or offline, and I've been getting steady no work from project messages. Their server status page showed 16 results ready to send, and 7 being created a second. That's basically no work, when divided by the several hundred thousand users trying to get it. _________________

I wonder what is going on over there. I'm lucky enought to have some work on each pc right now, so no problem there (nevermind the other projects).
I wonder if this is related to the server crash last weekend. _________________ Fetch me the Holy Hand Grenade!

I got a few hours work earlier, then ran out, got 1 WU just now that's been pending download for who knows how long, and right back to no work from project messages. _________________

I've noticed that the WU's either get through right away or it takes forever for them to download. There are problems again I suppose.... _________________ Fetch me the Holy Hand Grenade!

I'm finishing the current WU then suppending it, it's wasting loads of time trying to download WU's when it could be doing something else.

Thanks for the heads-up on the new version, I updated the thread in our BOINC forum about it so everyone else knows. Seems to still be compatible with BoincView 1.4.2, so that's a bonus. |
SETI@home has this weekly maintenance outage, it's almost every time on
a tuesday, nothing N E W so to day.
I just UPdated to 5. 10. 44 .
Tomorrow, every is back to normal , you'll see , Ni Ni

Looks like this problem is far more than just the usual outage. Servers seem to keep coming back and then disappearing but the database is actually disabled, so somethings going on up at the castle. _________________ Peter |

It has to more than the maint. Their web site isn't coming up. Oh well, other projects to run. _________________ Fetch me the Holy Hand Grenade!

I didn't mean the spamming variety. You are right though.
One must be careful in what they ask for.

And down yet again. No fresh shrubberies to prune until late on Monday, I guess.

Well while waiting, you could always crunch a couple units for the Pentathalon event. We're onto 8th place, not sure 7th would be possible, but definitely wouldn't want to lose place on any project... _________________
