The last few votes have been rushed last minute deals, so I figgered I'd get this started early...

First we need a decision on Prime Grid. The "Earth Day" Challenge runs for 8 days from 4/22 - 4/30. Do we just want to crunch Prime Grid next month because any other project will get the proverbial short sheet, cold shoulder, etc?

If we prefer the full ballot, here's a first draft.

ABC
Aqua
Cosmology
Docking
Einstein
Malaria Control
Milky Way
NFS
POEM
Prime Grid
Quantum M. C.
Rec. Crossing
Rosetta
Spinhenge
Sztaki
World Community Grid

Here's a list of projects we've dropped off the ballot for various reasons. Mostly stability issues, lack of interest, or they are primarily GPU projects, where adding CPU's wouldn't help much...

Climate
Collatz
Cosmology
Leiden Classical
NQueens
Milky Way
SETI
Superlink

Milky Way is on both lists... It has stability issues at the moment, and it looks to be dominated by high-end GPU cards (double precision required) at the moment. For those 2 reasons, I think milkyway needs to be on the reject list only.

My vote? Primegrid, as that one currently holds my interest. That challenge is gonna be a bear, though. 321 LLR is not for the faint-hearted, as it has a current average time of 16h 12m, and does not have a 64bit advantage. Gonna be quite some time for 8 days worth of them to validate. Plus, on multi-core CPU's, the LLR programs have a pronounced slow-down effect.

Except for those 8 days, I would be crunching either AP26 or one of the sieves. They don't need a wingman for validation, and they have a 64-bit version available.

Currently, I'm working on AP26.

Though for the Challenge we will get credit for the team score as soon as WUs are turned in. Right now on my slow shrubber it is taking about 38+ hours.

The TRP LLR (the prime proving sub-project on The Riesel Problem -- the TRP sieve was the one on the St. Patrick's Day parade) sub-project has gone live, I've switched from AP26 to that one now. Gotta get all my badges, ya know. Cool

I vote for PrimeGrid as well, why not taking advantage of the time to snag a few challenge points? #ni-1

No, it just means we're doing Prime Grid as POTM in April without bothering to vote on it due to the 8 day challenge... I'll put a thread up on that soon....

let's make it something with a short run-time...My new netbook can't take anything too heavy...oh, and also it need to be able to run a GNU/Linux client as my netbook is running the Ubuntu 9.10 Netbook Remix - which is brilliant and installed perfectly - ...so, anyway, our next project based upon my new netbook: perfect
