Nice list. We lost three to SETI.USA last month. Are they offering free beer or something? _________________

I was just talking with "The Traitor JerWA" on FaceBook, and I know that NFS@Home is the Project of the Month and all, But....
JerWA is putting in 50K shrubberies in 4 hours on Aqua using his CPU's alone
Now this is way too good to pass up... I have to believe that Dave Anderson is gonna put a stop to this rather soon... Mabey we should consider "Gettin While the Gettin is Good"
We could always come back to NFS after the "Credit Nazis" crack down... _________________ a.k.a. Licentious of Borg.........Resistance Really is Futile.......

It's all just numbers. I gave up caring about score a long time ago.
What does it matter if you have a really high number if it means nothing in what has been accomplished or you can't feel good about it? _________________ A Shrubbery for Prez. Let's put more bushes in the whitehouse.

I think KWSN crunchers have admitted we have a couple of problems. One is a lot of us are total credit hos, meaning if the numbers are going up we feel great about that no matter how it happens. If we could earn an avalanche of points by determining how many times our systems can count from 1 to 10 in a years time, many of us would do it. Second we have the attention spans of gnats. There are huge numbers of shiney and wiggly things out there. We are attracted to all of them. A Project Of The Week is way too long for some of us.
Disclaimer: I believe we have laughed about these sorts of things many times before, so I hope no one takes them personally or gets angry about it...
Disclaimer: I broke one of my rules and posted the above prior to imbibing any coffee, therefore I can't claim full responsibility. (I have another rule about not posting after drinking 3 beers, which is broken more frequentNi!) |

Hey, we're in 9th place. Slightly over 150K crunched the last two days!
Milestones:

ohiomike passed 450,000
John Galt 007 passed 400,000
Al Dente passed 300,000
Sir Papa Smurph passed 90,000
Yankton passed 30,000
A Shrubbery passed 25,000
Honza Cerny passed 3,000 |

I ran a couple of Aqua Wu's on my new Win 7 box.... about 85 credits per core per hour... Good but not as much as I had hoped for....It only runs one WU using all 4 cores at the same time...
I have reattached this machine to NSF and now I will see if 64bit win7 is any better than 32bit XP on this project _________________ a.k.a. Licentious of Borg.........Resistance Really is Futile.......

looks to be about 30% faster on Win 7 than on XP...
~1 hour per WU on 7.
~1.5 per WU on XP
or would that be 50% _________________ a.k.a. Licentious of Borg.........Resistance Really is Futile.......

I'm going for some number outside of that range. It might even be a number slightly larger than infinity. _________________ A Shrubbery for Prez. Let's put more bushes in the whitehouse.
