We have been awarded points for this Challenge, 34.5. Overall we are currently in 15th place, two points behind the team The Final Front Ear.

52 Hours, I hope the credits are good. These Sztaki credits are a bit on the lean side. _________________

Weren't we in something like 22nd place after the last challenge? So 15th is great...
As to PoTM, aren't we going to crunch Docking in June? |

The only problem might be about the length it takes to get granted credit. Though with the Challenge the wait might be shorter since more people will be crunching that particular type of WU. I get about 1K credits per a WU completed, but then it takes me about 100 hours to complete one of those WUs.

For awhile I thought you guys must be going crazier than usual because I was shrubbing these in < 20 minutes on my laptop. Then I realized I can't read. I'm doing PPS LLR on my laptop. _________________

I know that the POTM will take a slight hit being 1 core down, but I want to check one of these things out... |
109k seconds, 677 credits asked for, but not validated yet. Might get in the high 700s for credit. Here is the WU I did...credits not as good as the sieve... |
do you know if we get a 64 bit improvement? might be worth a try on one of your 64bit machines.....

LLRs never get an improvement with 64 bits. the apps won't run any faster. Wish they did. _________________ Some days are worse than others. |

OK here's the answer to my own question, I'mcrazy should also take note of the "stable systems only" warning.....
Primegrid wrote: | Welcome to PrimeGrid's Birthday/Summer Solstice Challenge
While the Challenge is still quite some time away, we wanted to prepare everyone for the intensity of doing LLR testing on such large numbers. PSP LLR is currently testing n>7M which can produce a 2M+ digit prime.
This Challenge will definitely live up to its definition...it will truly be challenging. It will be like running a constant "stress test" on your computer for 9 days straight. Solid, well cleaned and cooled computers will be a necessity. Good hardware will "rule the day".
As for the psychology of the Challenge, patience will be the virtue needed if you wish to participate. The average WU is 50 hours long (range: 28hrs to 100hrs). So, you can see the importance of having stable hardware.
------------------------------------
ATTENTION: The primality program LLR is CPU intensive; so, it is vital to have a stable system with good cooling. It does not tolerate "even the slightest of errors." Please see this post for more details on how you can "stress test" your computer. WU's will take ~30-35 hours on fast/newer computers and 50-90 hours on slower/older computers. If your computer is highly overclocked, please consider "stress testing" it. Sieving is an excellent alternative for computers that are not able to return valid LLR results.
Application builds are available for Linux 32 bit and Windows 32 bit. These applications will be sent to 64 bit clients. As with all LLR application projects, there is no advantage of 64 bit over 32 bit.

That's 26½/hour, or at least double Docking.
Not too shabby.

I should be good to go. Everything is running great so far. If necessary i'll back off a little on the OC in the Beast. Camelot3 (Q6600) is OC'd to 3.15 and has been for months. Cooling on that one may be an issue though. I may have to put a fan blowing into the open side of the case. Or maybe just order a new case. I really like the antec 900 but I think two of them in the room with all the led's might be a little much. Might have to do some shopping. Any suggestions?
