I couldn't get any of the Boinc projects to run GPU code right, so I tried Folding. It is a pain to setup for multiple GPUs, but the performance doesn't look to bad. About 3500 PPD per GPU with Einstein still running (about 50% CPU on both cores of a P4 D830). Can any of our "Folding People" tell me if this is a reasonable production for the hardware?
Intel P4 D830, 2 NVidia 8800 GTS cards.

I'm not sure, so I'll fire up my 8800GTS and see what it'll do.

Mine are bringing in about 2500 credits/day/card. It uses about 20 % of a CPU for each card also. (I have Milkyway running 2 tasks on that machine also).

Let me know the results - I've got one at home that doesn't do much at the moment as despite having all the right CUDA libraries BOINC (SETI) never gave me any workunits for it. I was thinking of trying OGR/RCS, but haven't got round to doing anything yet... Embarassed

That's also the reason I'm going to try it

Ok

It's running. I noticed there is a GPU client and an SMP client. I'm currently running the GPU client should I be running both? or is there a combined client?

I'm running 6.22 currently.

The GPU client version will run both.

Thanks for the reply.

I notice it's only utilizing one CPU. I'm using the system tray is there a configuration needed to get it to run SMP?

Hey all. The GPU client seems stable. I'm not sure of the points per day, as I have it running on 3 systems.

I will be adding to my farm when I hit 5mil in SETI. Smile

I had trouble getting the graphics driver to work in SETI, so anyone else having troubles consider folding. Folding with an NVIDIA cards is cheap points. My recent jump in production is with the addition of three new cards. Two 9800 GTX+ and a 9800 GT check the following table for info on a card you might have. All three cards are less than the price of a new system and are producing over 13k

Hi, trying an ATI HD 5770 (Juniper) on Collatz Conjecture, which give a credit of ~40K a day ! Shocked Laughing

Are the Knights competing, again, stupid question?

Is Folding in the list or ???????
