Congratulations Sir......
You should join the team in Pirates as well. Ridiculously low credits but only 2 or 3 second WU's and we could use the help. _________________ a.k.a. Licentious of Borg.........Resistance Really is Futile.......

A fourfold Ni! to that!
But watch it, my RAC is increasing quite a lot thanks to your tip about optimized S@H apps... _________________ A man's got to do, what a man's got to do - that means saying Ni! and Ni! and Ni! and Ni! and Ni!... over and over again!!!

Thank you kind Sirs.
Spirit, glad to hear you're seeing an improvement! Like I said before, bad for me but good for the team. How much of an improvement are you seeing so far? _________________

Hard to say, but the RAC will pass 3000 soon... I don't know how its measured, but's it's increasing from day to day. _________________ A man's got to do, what a man's got to do - that means saying Ni! and Ni! and Ni! and Ni! and Ni!... over and over again!!!

Since you started the optimized client 9.03.08 it looks like your RAC has jumped almost 1000 points according to boincstats from about 2280 to almost 3280! Just about as good as adding another computer to the farm.
Glad to see the boost for you. _________________

That's right! And the RAC is still incresasing from day to day. Incredible! The Q6600 itself now has a RAC of 3100 from 1900 one week ago (according to the BOINC client).
I will report when I reach the peak. Maybe will do that in one day or two. _________________ A man's got to do, what a man's got to do - that means saying Ni! and Ni! and Ni! and Ni! and Ni!... over and over again!!!

In only 188 days! Ni!
I will overtake PhastPhred and mohrorless a lot sooner (in SETI) Ni to that too!
However, I think the peak RAC is close now. Still increasing a little from day to day, but not so much. (I wonder how this is really measured, is it week, month or what?)
The Q6600 has had a RAC about 1900, with some variation over time. With the optimized application it has increased to 3200. That is quite a difference.
My Q6600 is overclocked and it might be why the increase is so significant? It is clocked to 3.0 now from it's original 2.4. (I had it up to 3.5, but faced huge temperature problems, at 3.0 I feel comfortable to have it running 24x7)
One more interesting observation, also OC-related: I've startet to get temperature warnings on the processor almost immediately since I installed the optimized app, solved it with adding one more fan (and thus more noice). The increase is not huge, just 3-4 degrees or so, just enough to go over the top. But it's a bit strange. Or is it...? _________________ A man's got to do, what a man's got to do - that means saying Ni! and Ni! and Ni! and Ni! and Ni!... over and over again!!!

You are very welcome to take it as a challenge, as a friend of SETI it's only good with more shrubs to the cause
You still have it! Wonderful! I'm a little bit angry about myself there, the oldest ones are gone... But I do have TWO oldies to throw in, one 8088 laptop and my Amiga 2000 (with 14 Mhz turbocard, wow!).
Be afraid, very afraid!
EDIT: You will be overtaken in 10 days according to BOINCstats _________________ A man's got to do, what a man's got to do - that means saying Ni! and Ni! and Ni! and Ni! and Ni!... over and over again!!!

Not so strange. The optimized app is much more efficient but also pushes the cpu more than the stock app. In some of the notes regarding the opti app it will tell you if you are overclocking you may need to back off a little on the oc if you start to see problems. In your case you were able to fix it with additional cooling.
Great work Spirit. I think I need to upgrade the Celery 3.3 GhZ to something better soon. _________________

Not too difficult. At least to pass me in SETI. I have lowered the share SETI gets so I could dedicate more to Milky Way. I have become a credit whore. _________________ Fetch me the Holy Hand Grenade!

It's WAR now!
Except for my Palm V, I will also throw in my TI-59! As soon as I figure out how to get S@H on the magnet cards, you are SMOKED!
(It still works, although the magnet cards seem to be destroyed. I wonder if they are possible to come by somewhere...?) _________________ A man's got to do, what a man's got to do - that means saying Ni! and Ni! and Ni! and Ni! and Ni!... over and over again!!!

Y'KNOW I gotta top ya! Here's a last-minute Shrubber I'm attempting to purchase off EBay as we 'speak'...
(I wonder if the Owner's Manual will tell me how to download the BOINC software into THIS baby?) _________________
