Hi All
It is Tuesday June 24/08 and we are in Horn Lake, Mississippi.
The journey so far has been relatively uneventful.
There are a couple of items on the trailer that we need to get fixed while we are here near Memphis, so we may stay here for 3 or 4 days.
Today it reached 35 C (95 F), with building humidity, but clouds have not been a problem so far today.
Spending the afternoon in a nice pool to cool off along with a cold drink.
Don't forget to check our progress at www.venezuelan-journey.com. _________________ KWSN Sir CADCAM of the Wooden Rabbit

Sir and Lady Cad,
If you're still in San Antonio (hard to tell, Spot seems to be down), you should try out a place called Macaroni's. Pretty decent Eyetalian food. If they're busy, there is a hallway around the dining room with gallons of wine in tubs of ice... when you get to your table, they ask you how many glasses of wine you had... I hear some people can still talk at that point...
They are located off I10 in the northwest part of town.
Ya'll have a good trip down south, we'll keep the lights on for ya.

We only have SPOT on when we are "REALLY" traveling.
Yes, we are still in San Antonio and will be until Sunday Aug 3.
We are waiting for our Central American vehicle insurance, which can take 10 - 15 days to arrange, and we are waiting word that the Rio Grande Valley (McAllen, Brownsville, Reynosa, etc.) has recovered sufficiently from the ravages of Hurricane Dolly.
On Sunday we will be moving to Portland, TX (near Corpus Christi) for 4 days before moving to the McAllen / Pharr area which will be our final stop in the USA.
Our scheduled first stop in Mexico will be Ciudad Victoria.
I will try to update the web site at least every 2 or 3 days.
We are currently in SE San Antonio but, we might just try Marconi's.
We did enjoy Landry's Seafood down on the Riverwalk, but Mad Dogs Pub was garbage.
Anyway, keep watching this channel. _________________ KWSN Sir CADCAM of the Wooden Rabbit

Just want to let you know I am enjoying reading the log of your travels. I say forget the butt holes at the Mad Dogs pub. Sounds like some a$$ that felt like showing up a visitor from another country.
Are there any pictures to post so far? _________________ Fetch me the Holy Hand Grenade!

Sit CadCam jinxed me! Here I am minding my own business, next thing you know I'm making plans to go to Valencia, Venezuela. Oh, well, you go where the money is (Smurfit has a paper machine that needs a PLC upgrade).

We are now about 6 miles from the Mexican border in Pharr, Texas.
We should be crossing the border on Monday or Tuesday (Aug 18/19).
The temperature here in Pharr has been in the low 100's F for the past week.
Keep up to date at venezuelan-journey.com.
