The article seem to be a bit confused about what is high data transmission speeds and what is computing power, but still, a slightly faster internet connection would be welcome.

Then again, I am rarely maxing out my own connection. The bottlenecks are the larger Internet backbones me thinks. The few times I actually get the bloody 20Mbps I'm actually paying for, it's fast enough for my needs. Therefore I think the effort should be made in making the large data highways larger, and not just getting fiber to the end users.

Best read "The Never Ending Days Of Being Dead" then...We're all going to live as computer simulations according to one of the chapters in that book.

Also "Eon" by Greg Bear, where most of the population is in the virtual world at any given time.
