Being the main tech guy at work, I've been tasked with setting up a slightly more granular permissions structure on our file server plus implementing a centralized login system. The file server permissions can obviously be done by just setting up appropriate logins and groups on the file server itself, but the central login system seems to imply moving to an Active Directory/windows domain setup. Can anyone recommend a good how-to or tutorial that covers how to go about making such a conversion ( particularly anyone who's actual done such a conversion)?

I normally dial the IT helpdesk and talk to the techies when I have a problem with the computers at work.
But I don't think that will help you a lot. |
