I think the word you were looking for is smite. I know the article is about spite, but I don't think you're using it properly in the poll. Just saying.

Are you sure, it could be "spit" would you spit in someones food if they..... They do it in the coffe shop you visit and the resturant, probably even in the hotdog and hamburger factory... we've all seen the secret video footage.

If the past passive tense of "smite" is "smitten", is the past passive tense of "spite" "spitten"?
