Nah, I made this thread to help current and new KWSN users. I expected it to be a lot of work, and I keep adding more to it all on my own. Someone else adding things for me to do is cool, it means the list might actually be useful to someone other than me.

I think your list is wonderful, and it was a great idea to get it going. This would serve as a perfect place to direct new team members, when we get the inevitable "what should I shrub"-type questions, particularly if we can somehow incorporate Sir Papa's idea of including one or more reasons why to run each one. I think that "lots of credit per CPU hour" is a perfectly legitimate reason (no less than "this is medical research" or "this is helping us understand climate change"), especially for those of us that are running less than state-of-the-art rigs.

Anyway, thanks for all your efforts so far. You really have accomplished something already. I'm hoping that you can get it made sticky soon, because I see a real need for something like this.

BURP.... has work
VTU... Can't check webpage down
Xtremelab... info

Code:
XtremLab is a project using the Boinc platform. Contrary to other projects, we do not use grid for computations about physics, mathematics or biology: we study the grid technology itself. We perform performances analysis in order to find how to improve performances of all others projects.

Our application is very simple: we count the number of operations that your processor can perform for BOINC over time. This counting is done for every 10 seconds in the period of 10 minutes that XtremLab's results last. We obtain a very accurate measure of the power available for grids over time.

This measurement will be used to build algorithms that better anticipate your computer activity: for example, futur version of BOINC will choose more accurately the amount of work to download and less results will pass the deadline. This measurement will also be used in many experiments and statistical studies.

Also means that they have not posted anything in the "News" section in a long time or update the application.

After much hard work, Proteins@Home is ready for a vacation! We hope to finish all the workunits that are currently on our server or being crunched by volunteers over the next couple of weeks. After that, the project will go offline for a few months. We will be posting a progress report on this web site within a week or two. All participants will be notified by email. Meanwhile, many thanks to all of you for your help and participation!

Project status updated in the list. I'll be adding the new project that Al Dente found soon.

BBC has no new work, if I read everything correctly. They are accepting work people have but no more new work is going out.

SIMAP will have only 20K WU's starting tomorrow. Taking bets on how long they will last.

20k? Gonna be more than that. Last month was 127,000 pairs, which kept my whole farm about 80% busy for 3 days before falling off. They announced 200,000 pairs yesterday, so I imagine we'll get at least 4-5 days of work.

I actually remembered this time, and stopped all my machines from downloading work. They won't be "dry" by the time SIMAP starts, but they won't still be 2 days queued either like last month.

Added Superlink @ Technion.

I can hardly wait to see what kind of burst of shrubbing your farm does on this.

This has not been update for a while. There are quite a few new projects, and changes.

Some I can quickly see that:
BBC - Work should be NO
Climate should add Beta
D2OL
Dimes
DPAD Muon
Enigma
eOn
...

Oh, and U comes before V in the alphabet I know.

How much longer do you think the SAP WU's will last before all are done?

Ni

They have a LOT in progress, just over 11,000. They look to be a lot like CPDN work units, taking most rigs more than a month to crunch. So I don't know, but it's likely the project will be around awhile waiting on those WUs. This is an extension already though, the main part of the project was already over.

From what I gather new work is complete as of this posting... I'm only still getting credit on the thing, as I have a very old WU (but still 1.5 months from deadline) which is being crunched. Not to fubar the WU up; I suspended it during times I'm doing pretty resource intensive things such as gaming.... True, as things like WoW take 100% of the CPU time it shouldn't run; but from what some have indicated with CPDN results, it has lead to failure for some. With such gargantuin WUs, better safe then sorry. It's still got more then enough time to complete #ni-1
