Thanks for the info. I've been trying to work out how I could build my own sort of blade server shrubber. The idea is that there would be one mobo with an optical drive and CPU attached to act as a file server, and the other N number (currently contemplating up to 3) would run strictly on flash drives. Linux for OS for everything. I found an outfit on ebay that sells this gizmo that allows you to hook a CF card to the mobo via an IDE connector (so much for needing a new enough BIOS to be able to boot of USB). Still wondering whether to have multiple PSUs, or just one big one. Generally, I hate to have a single point of failure, even though this is far from "mission critical".
I came across some incredibly low-power mobo/cpu bundles with built in video and ethernet. Unfortunately, they sold out before I could snag even one _________________

Alas I will be behind soon, also. Good crunching! My RAC will jump another 1000+ with the new machine I get Monday, but I can not currently compete with yours. Just can not afford that. _________________ Watch the movie about me The 4-1-4s: The Original Teenage Hackers (It is only about 12 minutes long.)
