I upgraded to the latest BOINC Version this morning.

A couple of hours later I was taking a gander at the messages (don't ask me why I'm not even sure why I did it) and I saw the following (once for SETI, once for Einstein and once for Rosetta (the only projects with any WUs on my machine at the moment):

BOINC wrote:
02/22/2007 09:56:44|Einstein@Home|Task l1_0705.0_S5R1__2831_S5RIa_1 exited with zero status but no 'finished' file
02/22/2007 09:56:44|Einstein@Home|If this happens repeatedly you may need to reset the project.

Any ideas?

Happens occasionally and seems to hurt nothing.

Best answer I've come across is your system updated it's clock. Boinc does not deal well with time changes.

But, as the message says, if it happens repeatedly you need to reset the project. Happened to me once after something got corrupted, and every WU exited that way. Reset the project and it sorted itself out.

I did install the Windoze update today for the Daylight savings change....maybe that had somethgin to do with it.

What I'm doing about this is letting it finish the work units I already have, sending them back (no new units set too) and resetting the project, Seems to have worked for Rosetta, did it for SETI & got the message again - so I will try it again there and I am waiting for the Einstein shrubs to finish to try it there. I some how did not have any work for the other projects so I reset them too, we'll see what happens.

Stay tuned for the next episode of "What Else Can We Do To Slow John's Shrub Output Down".....

It used to bother me but after considerable searching and some very rude responses on the seti forums I found that aparently when ever Boinc exits and restarts it will create this message when ever there is not a finished file. For instance if you have your preferances set to switch projects after 1 hour then it should generate it each hour. It is nothing to worry about. If you want to get flamed just ask on the seti primadonna forums.

Thanks Papa, I really don't feel llike being the target of another person's anger (that's why I got married Rolling Eyes ). I gave up worrying about it, it doesn't seem to be causing any problems with the shrubbing.
