actually I did tell them that it was time for a new hard drive. I figured that the HD might have been the ntoskrnl problem. Another reason it is here is to burn all photos to a dvd just in case. all tests I run say ok or fine but it makes noise when it works hard ( more than I like ) but not the click click click of death. Oh well I have a couple of spares mabey I should try one of those and see if it runs faster.
Thanks all I will update if I find out conclusively. _________________ a.k.a. Licentious of Borg.........Resistance Really is Futile.......

Since you OC'd it, the mobo obviously has adjustable clock settings. Are these still where they should be? Occasionally mine revert back to factory defaults, especailly after a failed boot attempt. _________________ 0.0 Giggly hertzes Folding!

No, I did not and cannot OC the HP ( the one with the problem ). The one that is OCed is my Main comp that is a barton 2500 built by me. That one is Overclocked 15% and has been stable for 3 years at that speed. I would OC the Hp but I can't unlock the Mobo. ( Well actually I havent tried, I don't own it and I don't want to if I smoke it ). _________________ a.k.a. Licentious of Borg.........Resistance Really is Futile.......
