Torchwood starts on Sunday! Can't wait to catch BT airlines to the premiere!
For those who might not be aware, it's a spinoff of Doctor Who centered on the character of Captain Jack Harkness. It is supposed to be darker, sexier and more complex (adult-oriented) than its predecessor. Who trivia: the title comes from a practice of labeling Doctor Who footage "Torchwood" while in transport for security purposes. Torchwood is an anagram of Doctor Who.
Too much information?

I like the sound of that one, especially if it's darker and sexier. It sounds a bit Nikitaish to me, and that's not a bad thing.
Found an article from June at the ABC tv (Hobart) site.
And an interesting BBC article from '05.
Yes, well, I'm not going to say a word about this one from '05.
I'm hoping we get Torchwood here not long after it starts airing in the UK. _________________ My brain hurts.

So, I turn on Dr. Who tonight to witness Sarah Jane running around with a bunch of guys in poorly done plastic suits trying to save some alien world from the reptile invaders...
I really wish I could get a Dr. Who episode here that was newer than the mid 70's. _________________ A Shrubbery for Prez. Let's put more bushes in the whitehouse.

You're lucky you get the classic Who... I've been getting a few from Netflix, but there's a lot that hasn't been released yet. The new Who is all on SciFi now, you don't get that channel? |

hahaha. I thought that would get a reaction.
I like the word 'kenspeckle'. What does it mean?
I think I'm looking forward to seeing the show that's based in sodding Cardiff.

Kenspeckle- conspicious, easily recognised, bright even garish used to refer to people in the main part. _________________ So Few brain, cells So much Mezcal. Ni and once again Ni |

You don't have basic cable?
Here in the USA, we are only one season behind the UK on the Sci Fi channel every friday night.
Then of course there are other options... _________________ My S@H Profile - KWSN Stats

I am am busy watching Keeping Up Appearences & As Time Goes By here in NYC. I know both shows are done with first run production, but I have gotten in to them and I (and my wife) enjoy watching them.
Of course, NOTHING beats Mr. Bean. My wife can't stand him (another plus)! If anyone should be part of this looney bin it is Bean.

I love Keeping Up Appearances! Mrs. Hyacinth Bucket.
Many, many years ago I had a boss who wore the same sort of clothes and had her hair done every Friday morning in the same style as Mrs. Bucket.
And this was way before Keeping Up Appearances was made. _________________ My brain hurts.

No cable at all. I live far from anything you could call civilization and I won't pay $50 bucks a month for the channels that are worth watching. _________________ A Shrubbery for Prez. Let's put more bushes in the whitehouse.

Was she as much of a pain in the arse as the "Bucket Woman" is? Poor Richard how does he put up with that?

That's the fun part Shrubbery. While I do have cable, the shows are both played on the local PBS stations (yes in NYC there are 2 PBS stations). _________________ Fetch me the Holy Hand Grenade!

Yep, she was. No sense of humour.
Richard is such a sweet-tempered calm person. He knows exactly what she's like, loves her (I guess), tolerates all the silly pretentiousness, and smooths things over when Hyacinth upsets everyone.
I absolutely loved the episode where Hyacinth gets drunk on the Earl's(?) home-made wine. Brilliant actress! Did you know that Keeping Up Appearances was her first acting role?
Daisy is my favourite character in the show. I don't know how she can stand being married to Onslow. _________________ My brain hurts.

My sympathies to you then on your former boss.
I haven't seen that episode yet. I do like any episode where her father gets out the old army uniform and goes on patrol (wreaking havock the whole time). There was a show on here in the US in the late 70's to the early 80's with a similar character in it. He was always walking around in his WWII US Army uniform. He was always going after the enemy (usually the neighbor driving a German car).
I think Daisy and Onslow are a perfect match. Emmet's reactions to seeing Hyacinth are priceless. _________________ Fetch me the Holy Hand Grenade!
