I have these 2 old boxes (cpu ~1G) running folding@home on winME, and I suspect that they could well be more productive with a different OS. I am reluctant to experiment without some advice

her comp now runs 1.25 GB RAM - and is definitely a touch hotter than it was, errrr well the fan runs a lot faster and more of the time anyway, but its folding better too! now back up to 6 boxes shrub ...

My wife's laptop is cooking with folding! 3GB processor and 256MB RAM - what a poor config!
